- Orthopaedics – Rutland Regional partners with Vermont Orthopaedic Clinic, recognized throughout the Northeast as a leader in the treatment of orthopaedic and sports-related injuries and illnesses.
- Oncology – The Foley Cancer Center at Rutland Regional provides advanced diagnostic and treatment services including chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery. Radiation treatment technology includes the RapidArc™ radiation system, one of the most advanced available.
- Diagnostic Imaging – Rutland Regional offers a full range of state-of-the-art diagnostic services and is one of just five U.S. hospitals – and the only rural hospital – to be named a GE Healthcare “Community Hospital Showcase”.
- Cardiology – The Rutland Heart Center provides comprehensive care for heart and vascular disease patients, from testing to treatment, including a diagnostic catheterization lab.

“A” Rating in Hospital Safety Scores from The Leapfrog Group
Rutland Regional Medical Center was the only hospital in Vermont to receive an “A” for Patient Safety in Fall 2017. Nationally, Rutland Regional was one of the 832 out of 2600 hospitals in the US to achieve an “A” rating. This award reflects the commitment of our staff in delivering compassionate care to our patients in a safe and secure environment.

U.S. News & World Report recently named Rutland Regional Medical Center as High Performing in four of the six procedure/condition areas: Knee Replacement, Hip Replacement, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and Heart Failure. Healthcare’s Most Wired® Winner, 2017
In 2017, the American Hospital Association announced that Rutland Regional Medical Center is the recipient of Healthcare’s Most Wired® award for the second year in a row. The award is in recognition for the exceptional way the hospital uses technology to build patient engagement, specifically in how the patient is afforded electronic access to their care team. Rutland Regional utilizes population health management tools and partners with other healthcare providers to share critical clinical information. 2017 Gold Seal of Approval® from The Joint Commission
The Joint Commission has recognized Rutland Regional Medical Center with its Gold Seal of Approval® in 2017 for its dedication to continuous compliance with the joint Commission’s State-of-the-Art standards. A team of Joint Commission expert surveyors evaluated Rutland Regional for compliance with standards of care specific to the needs of patients, including infection prevention and control, leadership and medication management. The Gold Seal indicates that Rutland Regional meets the Joint Commission’s rigorous performance standards in delivering quality, safe care. The Gold Seal is an internationally recognized seal of quality.
Studer Group® Excellence in Patient Care Award Winner
In Summer 2014, Rutland Regional Medical Center was the recipient of the Studer Group® 2014 Excellence in Patient Care Award for Decreased Left Without Being Seen. This award is based on data that shows a significant rate of change and/or substantial achievement in reduction of Left Without Being Seen within an organization over recent fiscal years. Governor’s Excellence Award for Worksite Wellness and Performance Excellence
The Vermont Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports has awarded Rutland Regional Medical Center the 2015 Governor’s Excellence in Worksite Wellness award. The award recognizes Vermont employers who have made programs and initiatives that encourage staff to make healthy choices a priority. In May 2010, Rutland Regional Medical Center received the Governor’s Award for Performance Excellence. The Governor’s Award for Performance Excellence recognizes organizations in Vermont that successfully achieve performance excellence within their management systems and operations. Award recipients are evaluated by an independent board of Vermont Performance Excellence Examiners in seven areas: leadership; strategic planning; customer focus; measurement, analysis and knowledge management; workforce focus; process management; and results.
